Common features across multiple workpapers
Functions that work consistently across most workpapers: conversation logs, supporting documents, edit mode, additional rows, and auto-triggered journals.
The following features behave consistently across most workpapers in Zato. Read this article first so you can apply the same actions in any specific workpaper without needing to relearn each one.
Conversation Log and Review Points
Add queries and review points directly within any workpaper to keep discussion in context with the figures being discussed.
- Click Conversation Log / Review Points in the right-hand panel.
- Click the Query / Review + icon.
- Select the type, enter your message, and submit.
Supporting documents
Single-section workpapers
Supporting documents can be accessed on the right-hand side of the workpaper.
Multiple-section workpapers
Supporting documents can be accessed on the right-hand side of the workpaper. You can view either all documents or section-wise documents by toggling between them.
Uploading documents within a workpaper
In addition to uploading via Source Docs at the job level, documents can be uploaded directly within a workpaper:
- Click Edit.
- Click Upload.
- Once uploaded, tick the check box if data should be extracted. Leave it unticked if the document is reference-only.
- Click Save Changes.
Edit and Save
Click Edit to unlock fields for manual input. Click Save to apply changes. Automation is temporarily paused while you are in Edit mode to prevent your manual changes being overwritten. Once you save, Zato's live computation re-engages and your updates reflect across all related workpapers immediately.
Adding additional rows
Once Edit mode is enabled, click the + sign to add additional rows to the workpaper.
Auto-triggered journals
Several workpapers create journals automatically as part of the automation process. These are system-generated manual journals. Users can edit the amount on any auto-triggered journal if it is found to be incorrect. Edit mode must be enabled first.
How to open any workpaper
- Go to Jobs and open the relevant job.
- Click the Workpapers Icon on the job row, or navigate to Results then Workpapers.
- On the Workpapers Dashboard, select the workpaper you want to open.
- Once inside the workpaper, the features described above are available from the right-hand panel.
