How the SHC workpaper is populated from the Company Extract and which fields need manual entry in the first year.

The Shareholding (SHC) workpaper tracks shareholders and their shareholdings as registered with the Companies Office. It draws directly from the Company Extract to ensure alignment with official records.

Data extraction

Auto-populated sections

  • Name of Shareholder: Auto-picked from the Company Extract uploaded under Data Sources (Companies Office).
  • Number of shares held at balance date: Auto-picked from the Company Extract.

Manual entry (first year only)

  • Number of shares held at start of the year: This section needs to be updated by users for the first year the entity is in Zato. After the first year, this field carries forward automatically.

How to access

  1. Go to Jobs and open the relevant job.
  2. Click the Workpapers Icon or navigate to Results then Workpapers.
  3. Select SHC on the Workpapers Dashboard.
