How to update account names and codes after changes in Xero

Two processes for refreshing client account names and newly created account codes in Zato, depending on whether Xero Sync is enabled.

There are two processes available to update account names and reflect new account codes in Zato. The process you follow depends on whether Xero Sync is enabled for the client. Following the relevant steps below will update account names and bring through any newly created account codes.

Without Xero Sync

  1. Download the updated Chart of Accounts (CoA) from Xero.

  2. Go to the Clients screen.

  3. Search for the client.

  4. Click the pencil icon under the Actions column to open Edit Client.

  5. Under Upload CoA, attach the updated CoA file.

  6. Click Update.

With Xero Sync

  1. Go to the Clients screen.

  2. Click Sync with Partner.

  3. Select Xero.

  4. Search for the client by client name or IRD number.

  5. Under the CoA column, click Resync CoA from Xero.

If you are unsure whether Xero Sync is enabled for a client, check the client row on the Clients screen, or confirm with your Partner Success Manager. Contact Zato Support if you have any questions.

Once the CoA is updated, the new account names and codes will be available in Chart of Accounts (CoA) Mapping the next time you open Job Setup for the client.

If you have already run automation on a job for this client, click Re-Run after updating the CoA so workpapers pick up the new account names and codes. Manual journals, workpaper edits, and supporting documents are not affected.
