Accounts Payable workpaper (ACP)
How the ACP workpaper is populated, how to handle payables outside Xero, and how manual journals appear.
The Accounts Payable (ACP) workpaper reconciles the accounts payable balance at year end, ensuring all creditors are correctly recorded. It feeds the Accounts Payable balance into the GST Reconciliation (GRC) workpaper.
Data extraction
Automatically populated based on the Aged Payable Summary imported from Xero under Data Sources (Ledger).
Section structure
Single section covering all account codes mapped to Accounts Payable in Chart of Accounts (CoA) mapping.
Payables outside Xero Aged Payables
Already recorded by client
If the payable has already been recorded, manually update the workpaper by adding the relevant details based on the supporting documents provided.
Not yet recorded
If the payable is not recorded, create and post a manual journal directly from the workpaper. Once posted, the details will automatically reflect in the workpaper.
Manual journals
Any journal posted to any account code mapped to Accounts Payable in CoA mapping will automatically appear in the workpaper as a new line item.
Balance per General Ledger (GL)
Sum of all account codes mapped under Accounts Payable in the CoA mapping.
