Ziffy AI: in-platform accounting assistant

Ziffy Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an intelligent in-platform assistant available within the Workpapers screen. Its primary role is to act as an on-demand accounting support tool, helping users interpret automation outcomes, understand complex data, and scrutinise General Ledger (GL) entries. It is designed to reduce interruptions to the workflow and support informed decision-making by providing contextual assistance exactly when and where it is needed.
Access and availability
Click the Ziffy AI button within the Workpapers screen. A side panel opens without leaving your current workspace. The button is accessible throughout the automation screen and can be scrolled from top to bottom for ease of use.
Access is role-based. Directors, Managers, and Accountants will only see information relevant to their assigned permissions and the specific job they are reviewing.
1. Chats: interactive assistance
The primary area for interacting with Ziffy using plain language.
- Type questions about workpaper explanations, unusual balances, or reconciliation logic.
- Ziffy provides both a concise summary for quick reading and a detailed explanation for deeper analysis.
- Revisit previous conversations or start fresh sessions as needed.
- Responses can be shared with team members within the Zato portal or sent externally via email.
2. Shared: team collaboration
Stores conversations and insights that colleagues have shared with you. This ensures that all team members working on the same engagement can access helpful discussions and collective knowledge related to that specific client job.
3. News: compliance updates
Real-time alerts relevant to the New Zealand and Australian accounting landscape.

- Click Read More to view full articles in your browser, or use Ask Ziffy to have the AI provide a summarised response based on the latest news.
Ziffy is locally hosted within your jurisdiction. New Zealand firms' data is processed on NZ infrastructure, Australia firms' on AU infrastructure. No client data touches any external model. Ziffy's AI systems are governed under ISO 42001.
