Adding clients: Manual, CSV and Sync with Partner

Three ways to add clients to Zato, plus how to navigate the Clients dashboard.

Add clients to Zato in one of three ways: manually, via CSV bulk upload, or by Sync with Partner.

Add a client manually

  1. Click + Add Clients at the top right.

  2. Enter Client Name, Client Type (Company, Trust, Individual), Director / Trustee details, Email, and any other required fields.

  3. Assign the questionnaire (e.g. Lean) and a Schedule Date if applicable.

  4. Click Save.

Bulk upload via CSV

Click + Add Clients, then Import From CSV. Download the Zato template, populate it, and upload. The system validates entries before importing.

Fetch Clients from Xero

The "Sync with Partner" action can also be triggered directly from the Clients screen, where it's available as a standalone option.

MYOB and QuickBooks integrations are currently under development.

Clients dashboard

Each client row shows Client Name, Director, Email, Client Type, assigned Questionnaire, Schedule Date, Quarter, and Actions (pencil icon to edit). Click the pencil next to Questionnaire to change the assigned questionnaire.

Toolbar options

  • Search: Search by Client Name, Director, or Email.

  • Filters: All Clients (groups), All Client Types (Company / Trust / Individual).

  • Select Date: Schedule the questionnaire send date.

  • Sync with Partner: Sync with your connected platform (e.g. Xero).

  • Send Invite: Send the questionnaire to selected clients.

  • Bulk Actions: Group clients or apply actions in bulk.
