Workpapers dashboard and navigation
Dashboard views, status indicators, action icons, and how to navigate the Workpapers module.
Workpapers are the financial schedules and reconciliations Zato generates during automation. They form the audit trail for review, approval, and compliance. Once automation completes, all workpapers appear on the Workpapers Dashboard.
Dashboard views
By Workpaper: Grouped by individual workpaper schedule.
By Account: Grouped by General Ledger (GL) account code.
Status indicators
Tick: Reconciled, within threshold.
Cross: Unreconciled, variance exceeds threshold.
Pending / Approved / Rejected: Review status (set during sign-off).
Dashboard table
Each workpaper row shows: Workpaper name, GL Closing Balance, WP Balance, Variance (red if negative), and Status. The counter at the top right (e.g. "22 workpapers, 7 with variance") gives a quick health check.
Sidebar navigation
The left sidebar groups workpapers by category (Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Income, Expenses) with tick or cross icons indicating reconciliation status. Hover the question mark next to any workpaper for a brief description.
Adding a custom workpaper
Click the + icon next to Workpapers in the sidebar to add a custom workpaper. Enter a description and either upload an existing template or build from scratch. The Workpaper Code is auto-generated.
Custom workpapers appear green in the sidebar to distinguish them from standard Zato workpapers. Standard Zato workpapers cannot be modified or deleted. Custom workpapers can be deleted .
Notes: Add comments tied to the workpaper and account code. Tag colleagues, attach files, mark as Urgent. The icon turns dark blue when comments exist.
Print: Download the workpaper (or all workpapers) as a PDF.
Calculator: Quick calculations without leaving the workpaper.
Approve: Lock the workpaper after review. Required individually for every workpaper before sign-off.
Sync with Partner
The Sync with Partner button at the top right syncs workpaper data with your connected platform (e.g. Xero) without leaving the dashboard.
