Rules Builder
How to create and manage automation rules that govern GL scrutiny across your firm's clients.
The Rules Builder allows you to automate GL scrutiny by defining exactly how the system should flag or reclassify transactions.
Creating a new rule
- Click + Create New Rule.
- Define scope: Rule Name, Account Codes (from dropdown), Entity Type, Clients (specific or All Clients).
- Set parameters: GST/Year, Column (Debit/Description/Source), Operator (e.g. Greater than, Equal to), Value.
- Set action & severity: Assign a severity level β Critical, High Priority, or Warning. Enable Reclassification if transactions should be automatically reassigned to a different account code.
- Add an Action Message & Description stating what action is required when triggered.
- Click Save Rule to activate.
Rules operate as global rules by default, applying universally across your firm's client base. When you edit an existing rule, modifications automatically become client-specific β ensuring adjustments don't alter the underlying global rule.
