Adding clients — manual, CSV & Auto Fetch
Three methods for bringing client data into Zato, and what information is required for each.
The Clients tab is the central workspace for managing all client entities within Zato. Three methods are available for adding clients.
1. Add manually
- Click + Add Client.
- Complete mandatory fields: Client Name, IRD Number, Director Name, Client Type, Email.
- Complete optional fields if applicable: NZBN, Address, Phone Number, Add to Group, Upload CoA (CSV or XLSX).
- Click Save.
The platform can process a job without an uploaded CoA. If unavailable during initial setup, navigate to the client profile later, enter Edit Mode, and upload the file.
2. Import from CSV
- Select Import From CSV.
- Download the Template CSV to ensure your data follows the required format.
- Enter client details and upload by clicking Choose File.
- Click Import from CSV to load into the preview screen.
- Review the information and click Save.
3. Auto Fetch (Xero)
- Click the Xero icon to initiate the sync.
- Enter your Xero credentials to authorise the secure data exchange.
- Click Allow Access on the permission prompt.
- Clients from Xero are automatically retrieved and displayed.
- Click Save to add them along with their CoA and Trial Balance from Xero.
MYOB and QuickBooks integrations are currently under development and not yet active.
