Investment – Portfolio & FIF workpaper (IRF)

How the IRF workpaper organises portfolio and Foreign Investment Fund (FIF) calculations into subsections, with document upload and links to other workpapers.

The Investment – Portfolio & FIF (IRF) workpaper is a standalone, template-based workpaper for preparing investment portfolio and Foreign Investment Fund (FIF) calculations. All worksheets sit in one workpaper as separate subsections.

Availability and activation

• IRF is in the Workpaper Bank and does not require COA Mapping.

• Automatic activation: when one or more documents are categorised as Investment – Portfolio & FIF, the workpaper appears automatically in Active Workpapers.

• Manual activation: if no documents have been uploaded, you can add IRF from the Workpaper Bank into the Other section of Active Workpapers.

Data extraction

Note: IRF is template-based. Figures are not extracted automatically, because FIF and portfolio source documents vary widely in format. Enter your figures into the relevant subsections. The template formulas handle the calculations.

Subsections

• Each worksheet from the template is a separate subsection with its own calculations.

• Use the navigation within the workpaper to move between subsections.

• Each subsection has a Tick/Untick option. An unticked subsection is hidden from view, but its data and calculations are kept.

Bank Movement: managing accounts

• Click + Add Account to create a new account section. It uses the standard template, formulas and validations.

• Edit an account's Display Name at any time. This does not change the underlying data.

• Click Remove Account to delete an account section. You will be asked to confirm before it is removed.

Supporting documents by subsection

Each subsection has its own document upload. Documents stay attached to the subsection they were uploaded to, so you can manage supporting documents for each subsection separately.

Linking FIF figures to other workpapers

• You can create hyperlinks from calculated FIF figures to other workpapers.

• Clicking a linked value in the other workpaper takes you straight back to the IRF subsection it came from.

• Links stay valid as long as both workpapers exist in the job.

Typical workflow

• Upload your portfolio and FIF documents.

• Categorise them as Investment – Portfolio & FIF.

• Open IRF from Active Workpapers.

• Tick the subsections you need.

• Prepare your calculations and upload supporting documents to each subsection.

• Link calculated FIF values to the workpapers that use them.

Traceability

Every cell shows its lineage as a computed, extracted or manual value.

How to access

• Go to Jobs and open the relevant job.
