Total Assets minus Total Liabilities (Net Assets) must always equal Total Equity across the package.

P & L (Statement of Profit or Loss)

One of the statements available from the dropdown on the Reports screen. Shows the client's trading result for the year.

LineWhat it means

Total Income

All sales and revenue earned in the year, before costs.

Gross Profit

Total Income minus Total Cost of Sales.

Net Profit Before Taxation

Gross Profit plus Other Income, minus Total Expenses.

Net Profit for the Year

The final result, carried into equity.

Balance Sheet (Statement of Financial Position)

One of the statements available from the dropdown on the Reports screen. Shows what the client owns and owes as at year end.

BlockWhat it means

Current Assets

Cash and near-cash items convertible within 12 months.

Non-current Assets

Longer-term assets, shown at cost less depreciation.

Current Liabilities

Amounts due within 12 months: GST owing, PAYE, provisional tax, and other items.

Non-current Liabilities

Longer-term obligations, including term loans.

Equity

Share capital plus accumulated earnings, less dividends paid.

Total Assets minus Total Liabilities (Net Assets) must always equal Total Equity.
