Branches

Set up branch locations under your firm and manage branch-scoped access for L5 and below users.

Firms operating from more than one office can use branches to segment clients, jobs, and (for L5 and below) staff access by location.

Setting up a branch

  • Once your firm details are saved, click Branches on the Firm Details card.

  • A Default branch is created automatically and marked Primary.

  • Click + Add Branch to create additional branches.

  • Each branch has four fields: Contact, Email, Phone, and Manager.

Branch managers

  • Each branch can have its own branch manager.

  • Only an L5 user can be made a branch manager.

  • A branch manager gets Director-level (L6) permissions, scoped to that branch only.

  • Directors (L6) set at firm level are not restricted by branch, they have access across all branches.

  • To assign a branch manager, go to Permissions & Users, create or edit an L5 user, assign them to the relevant branch, and check the Branch Manager box. This elevates that user to Director-level permissions within that branch only.

Note: Branch restriction only applies to users at L5 and below. L6 users always have full access, whether they're a branch manager or a firm-level Director.

How branch access works

  • Users assigned to a branch (L5 and below) only see clients, jobs, and data belonging to that branch.

  • Branch restriction is applied first, before role-based permissions decide what the user can do within that data.
