Why I cannot see my client in a dropdown
Reasons a client may not appear in selection dropdowns and how to resolve each.
If a client you expected to see is not appearing in a dropdown (e.g. when adding a job or assigning users), one of the following is usually the cause.
1. Client not yet added to Zato
The client must be added in the Clients tab before they appear anywhere else in the platform. Go to Clients and check the client list. If they are not there, add them via Add Client, Import From CSV, or Auto Fetch from Xero.
2. Permissions restriction
Your role may not include permission to view the client. Some user levels can only see clients assigned to them. Check with your firm administrator if you believe you should have access.
3. Filter applied
The Clients screen has filters at the top (e.g. All Clients, Active). If a filter is excluding your client from view, reset it.
4. Client deleted
If the client was previously deleted, they will not appear. Deletion is permanent. The client would need to be re-added.
5. Browser cache
If you have just added a client, refresh the page or clear your browser cache. New entries occasionally take a moment to appear.
