GST Reconciliation, Cash workpaper (GRCC)

The cash-basis equivalent of GRC, including the debtors/creditors GST adjustment specific to cash-basis clients.

The GST Reconciliation, Cash (GRCC) workpaper is the cash-basis counterpart to GST Reconciliation, Accruals (GRC), used where the client accounts for GST on a cash rather than accruals basis. It follows the same quarterly report-versus-BAS structure, with one addition specific to the cash basis.

Data extraction, per GST report and lodged BAS

Identical structure to GRC: GST Collected and GST Paid picked from the accounting system's own GST report for each quarter, and 1A (Owed to ATO), 1B (Owed by ATO), and G1 (Total sales) picked from the ATO Portal for the same quarters' lodged BAS.

GST on debtors/creditors adjustment

Because GRCC is cash-basis, GST sitting in outstanding debtor and creditor balances needs a separate adjustment, since cash-basis GST isn't recognised until money actually moves:

GST on debtors: the GST total from the Trade Debtors (ACR) workpaper's GST column.

GST on creditors: the GST total from the Trade Creditors (ACP) workpaper's GST column, always entered as a negative figure.

Balance per GL

From the Trial Balance, the GST account (matched by keywords GST, Goods & Services Tax, GST Payable, or GST Refundable). Credit balance shown as positive, debit balance shown as negative.
