Taxation Due workpaper (ITD)
How ITD is populated from IRD income tax payment records, and how transfers and payments are separated.
The Taxation Due (ITD) workpaper reconciles income tax payments against IRD records for the year.
Data extraction, income tax payments
Using the IRD Income Tax Transaction Summary Report:
● Filter the Period Ending column for the relevant balance date.
● Filter the Transaction column for "Payment."
● Fill the resulting Date, Amount, and Transaction description into the workpaper starting from the payments row. Some rows carry a pre-filled description that can be overridden if a better match is available.
All amounts are shown as positive, regardless of the sign shown in the IRD document.
Note: The two rows reserved for Transfer from and Transfer to are not to be used for additional payment entries, even if the payments rows run out of space. Insert new rows for extra payments instead of overwriting the transfer rows.
Data extraction, transfers
● Transfer from: filter the Transaction column for "Transfer from," within the balance-date period, and enter the summed amount and date(s) in the Transfer from row. Where more than one transaction matches, sum the amounts and list all dates separated by commas.
● Transfer to: same process, filtering for "Transfer to."
All amounts are shown as positive, regardless of the sign shown in the IRD document.
Multi-year calculation rows
A specific block of rows requires a detailed calculation spanning multiple years. This has been scoped as a separate build item rather than covered by the extraction rules above, and will also support the income tax journal entries once complete.
