Prepayments workpaper (PPM)
How PPM is populated from current-year GL, and the separate Prepayment Calculator section.
The Prepayments (PPM) workpaper reconciles the balance of prepaid expenses at year end, showing the movement during the year and the closing balance.
Data extraction
● Account Code is picked from the General Ledger for account codes with an account type of Current Assets and an account name containing "Prepayment."
● Description is the account name from the General Ledger with "- As per General Ledger" appended.
● Amount is the closing balance of the account code from the General Ledger.
● Supporting attaches the account code ledger detail, or any document categorised as a Prepayment. Where a document is categorised, it is attached purely as supporting, it does not drive extraction directly.
Prepayment Calculator
Note: This is a standalone calculator section, accessed through a toggle button, used to work out a prepayment amount by hand. It has no automated data extraction of its own and does not feed the main workpaper figures automatically, treat it as a side working, not part of the reconciliation.
Manual journals
Any journal posted to a prepayment account appears in the workpaper as a new line item.
