Accident Compensation Levy workpaper (ACC)
How ACC is populated from ACC invoices, including the Earners' Levy calculation for companies.
The Accident Compensation Levy (ACC) workpaper reconciles ACC levy invoices for the year. It auto-triggers a journal for the ACC Earner Levy once the workpaper is populated.
Data extraction
● Populated from ACC invoices uploaded under Data Sources (Source Docs). If invoices are unavailable or not captured correctly, edit the workpaper and add the details manually.
● Final levy and Provisional levy figures are read directly from the invoice and vary year on year.
● Earners' Levy applies only when the entity type is Company. The Earners' Levy amount is the levy figure multiplied by 1.15, and is entered as a negative.
● Gross Amount is read from the invoice for each levy line.
● If the client is not GST registered, this is flagged against the relevant rows.
Multiple invoices
Where more than one ACC invoice is uploaded, a row is added per invoice and figures should be extracted from every invoice uploaded, not just the first one.
● Earner's Levy is the exception: if it appears across multiple invoices, combine it into a single Earner's Levy row rather than showing one row per invoice.
Auto-triggered journals
An auto-triggered journal posts for the ACC Earner Levy based on the invoice data entered.
