How BLC matches a bank loan statement to the correct GL account, and the major-bank keyword list used to find it.
The Bank Loans (BLC) workpaper reconciles a business loan balance against the bank's own loan statement.
Data extraction
● Account number: read directly from the loan statement.
● Loan balance: read from the statement as at the job's balance date. Statement balances are typically shown as a debit ("DR") figure and are entered as a positive amount.
● Bank Loan Name: located in the Trial Balance under Liabilities (or occasionally Bank), matched by keyword against the major Australian banks, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank/CBA, NAB, ANZ, AMP Bank, Bank of Queensland, Bendigo Bank, Bankwest, Macquarie Bank, Suncorp Bank, National Australia Bank.
Balance per GL
From the Trial Balance, the liability account matched as the bank loan.
How to access
● Go to Jobs and open the relevant job.
● Click the Workpapers icon or navigate to Job Results then Workpapers.
● Select BLC on the Workpapers Dashboard.
