Investment Fixed Interest workpaper (OIN)

The Investment Fixed Interest (OIN) workpaper reconciles the balance of each fixed interest investment separately. It is manual, since this data is typically provided by the client on a statement rather than as ledger data.

Data extraction

Each field is read directly from the investment statement or term deposit confirmation:

●       Name: the organisation the investment is held with, plus the product name (for example, "BNZ Fixed Term, Compounding").

●       Date invested, Description, Principal, Term, and Interest rate: read as shown on the statement.

●       Opening balance: nil if the investment started during the current accounting period, otherwise the prior year's closing figure.

●       Less last year's net interest accrual, Less withdrawals, Plus further advances, Plus net interest reinvested, and Plus this year's net interest accrual: each populated only where the statement shows the relevant activity, left at nil otherwise.

Each account code mapped to Investment - Fixed Interest in CoA Mapping has its own section. Use the toggle to switch between viewing all sections or only unreconciled sections.

Attach the documents used to complete the workpaper (for example, the term deposit confirmation).

How to access

●       Go to Jobs and open the relevant job.

●       Click the Workpapers icon or navigate to Job Results then Workpapers.

●       Select OIN on the Workpapers Dashboard.
